Visual Effects Consulting
Spacemonkey Labs has more than 25 years of combined visual effects production experience. Depending on the needs of your project, we offer a couple of different consulting options that allow our experience to work for you:
1)Pre-Production Consulting
No project is too small to think about visual effects before you start shooting. If you think you might need visual effects in your film don’t wait to talk to someone after you have already filmed your plates. Just because visual effects is a post-production process doesn’t mean that you can shoot whatever you want on set. If you aren’t careful, your budget might not be able to afford the amount of visual effects magic required to fix a problem. Tell us what you’re trying to accomplish and we can figure out best way to shoot the material to allow for the most flexible post production solutions.
2) Visual Effects Breakdown, Budget, and Bid Packet
Perhaps you’re trying to raise money for a project with some or a lot of visual effects or you already have money for a project, but you don’t know anything about VFX or have any idea what is involved in putting visual effects budgets or schedules together. Let us do that for you.
We’ll look at the material you have (be it storyboards, pre-vis, or just a script), break down the scope of the visual effects work, and help you arrive at an initial shot list, a methodology, and a cost range you could expect to pay at a major visual effects facility.
You can then use these materials to aid in pitching the project to investors or a studio, to manage a project in hand, or in bidding the project around town.
3) Visual Effects Management
If your project is too big in one way or another for Spacemonkey Labs to complete alone, we can serve as the visual effects production and supervision arm of your project managing the bidding, awarding, continuity of quality, and completion of your visual effects from plate photography to post production across multiple vendors.
